Folorunsho Alakija was born in 1951 in the ikorodu area of Lagos state, Nigeria.
She is a business woman and one of the richest in the world. She has a net worth of about 2.1 billion USD. Her business revolves around fashion, oil and printing industries.

At the tender age of 7, she traveled to the UK for her primary education, she later returned to Nigeria for her secondary school education and afterwards she returned to the United Kingdom to study fashion designing.
She started her career in 1974 as an executive secretary at Sijuade Enterprises in lagos, she also worked as a banker for sometime before starting her tailoring company which rose to an household name within a short period (Supreme Stitches). She made clothing for fashionable Nigerian women.

In 1993, she got the license to explore oil on 617.000 acre block (OPL 216), granted to her company FAMFA LTD despite her not having expertise in oil business.
In 996, she entered into a joint venture agreement with star deep water petroleum ltd and made the company a technical adviser for exploration of her license. She transferred 40% of her stake to star deep and her family owns 60%.

She also has a real estate business worth millions, she was also said to have acquired a property for 102M USD recently. She owns a private jet worth about 46million USD and she is the founder of Rose Sharon foundation, charity grants for widows.
She has also been able to stay a pacesetter and one of the most re known business tycoons in the world by making the right decisions.
